Overview
Our First Contract
Was Classified
Platforms will endure because they enable force projection at scale, but their requirements are set years before threats emerge. National security advantage now depends on rapid adaptation. STR builds classified information-processing systems that enable fielded platforms to adapt to novel threats. The platform silhouette doesn’t change, but the capability does.

VALUES
Impact, Craftsmanship, and Teamwork
Doing well on any one of these is hard, and relaxing one takes the other two with it. Holding all three at once is the work.
STR exists to create a lasting impact on national security. The potential for impact is how we choose what we work on, from the programs we pursue to the tasks we pick up each morning.
We set a high bar for our work because our customers deploy what we build. Getting better at hard things is why people stay.
People do their best work when they know their teammates have their back, so we build interdisciplinary teams on a foundation of mutual respect.
History & Future
Founded to Have
an Impact
STR started in 2010 with six founders working out of their homes. Our first two contracts focused on processing of airborne radar data and airborne video data, including fusion of the video data with airborne signals intelligence, an early start toward what remains central to our work today: transforming sensor data into military decisions and effects.
Classified programs were part of STR from the beginning. In 2011, we leased our first office, and in 2012 we built our first secure facility: a 10-by-10-foot room with a classified information system. From that first 100 square feet, we have grown to more than 40,000 square feet of secure laboratory, development, and integration facilities supporting some of the nation's most sensitive mission needs.
Our mission and capabilities expanded steadily. We began developing cyber capabilities in 2012, undersea systems in 2014, space systems in 2015, land systems in 2017, and surface and maritime systems in 2019. What began with airborne information processing now spans every major operating domain, with cleared teams developing classified information-processing and decision systems that enable platforms and operators to adapt to rapidly evolving threats.
As STR continues to grow, we intend to build on what brought us here: taking on important problems, doing the work with exceptional craftsmanship, and bringing together teams capable of solving problems none of us could solve alone. The technologies and threats will change, but our commitment to impact, craftsmanship, and teamwork will not.
Lorem ipsum headline can fit on multiple lines.
STR began with a handful of researchers and an audacious idea: apply hard technology to the problems that keep a free society safe.
